The best paper was selected based on input from the reviewers and conference organizing committee. Papers was judged for their clarity, innovation of work, paper's potential importance in the field of Forensic Computer Science and its practical impact on Cyber Crime investigation/combat.
The author of the best paper had granted an award R$2.000,00 (approx. US$1,000), an award plaque, certificate, regular air ticket for one of the authors, up to a five night stay at the conference hotel (for one of the authors including breakfast and lunch).
This year conference the paper "Cyber Fraud Trends and Mitigation", by Richard Howard, Ralph Thmas, Jeff Burstein, and Roxanna Bradescu, have granted the BEST PAPER AWARD.
