ABSTRACT
Developing competence in Digital Forensics is a critical function in courses on Information Security or that approach this theme. The high cost involved to equip laboratories and acquire the necessary tools may preclude the offering of this discipline. In this scenario, the adoption of Open Source tools may facilitate the learning process and provide students their first contact with the tools used by experts, as well as familiarity with the steps composing digital forensics. This article, therefore, presents a proposal on the teaching of this discipline.
